About me

Krystal Morales Báez is a Puerto Rican worship leader, musician, writer, and producer with experience in social media content creation, music, broadcast television, theatre, film, and podcasts. She has worked as a social media manager, freelance producer, assignment editor, assistant stage manager, production coordinator, and more. In 2023, Krystal was on the production team for various musical theatre productions, including “Encanto: Una Historia de Amor Boricua” and “Todo El Que Cree”. Krystal is currently working as a Social Media Content Creator for the The Salvation Army USA, Eastern Territory.

Krystal is an animal lover. During the pandemic, she worked at a farm as a tour guide and volunteered at different farm animal rescue shelters, a period of her life she considers fundamental to who she is today. Some of the best friends she’s ever had are the sheep and cows she met at these farms. Nowadays, Krystal is based in New York City, and visits Puerto Rico as often as her JetBlue travel points allow.

  • Krystal has been working as a Social Media Content Creator for The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory since February 2024.

    Krystal manages the copywriting and scheduling for all posts across multiple platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. She collaborates with the digital team to ensure brand consistency and an accurate representation of all divisions across the Eastern Territory. The SAconnects TikTok account was opened when Krystal began working in this position, and has since grown organically to over 4k followers. In addition to planning and developing social media campaigns, Krystal also provides live social media coverage for all major territorial events.

  • Krystal worked as the Divisional Creative Arts Coordinator for The Salvation Army Puerto Rico & Virgin Islands from October 2023 to February 2024. In this role, she produced the original theater piece, “Todo El Que Cree”, which premiered on Saturday, November 4, 2023 in San Juan Puerto Rico. Krystal is perhaps most proud of the original song she composed for this musical, called Escojo Creer.

  • Krystal curates and manages ABC Puerto Rico’s YouTube page on a daily basis, ensuring that all local programming produced is uploaded to the platform after airing, allowing the ABC brand an actualized presence on YouTube.

  • Krystal served as Assistant Stage Manager [Deck] at “Encanto: Una Historia de Amor Boricua”. This original Puerto Rican musical was presented on April 2023 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and on July 2023 in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Krystal was in charge of overseeing a team of 6 crew members, and ensuring the movement of several large set pieces, including full bedroom and kitchen sets, and full sized doors.

  • Since 2022, Krystal has worked for The Salvation Army as a Social Media & Program Coordinator in the Music & Arts Department. Krystal runs the social media accounts for the department, and serves in various additional roles, including choir director, vocal coach, event producer, summer camp counselor, and youth ministry & worship leader.

  • Since graduating from Marquette University’s Digital Media program in 2017, Krystal has worked as an independent producer for various projects, including Gían Pérez’s live set, “Live from San Juan Sound” and acoustic music video for “Hide and Seek”.

  • Krystal produced several Tik Tok videos for the account @TikTokCriollo, which focuses on promoting health and wellness with the help of government workers, private sector employees, influencers, and citizens from the municipality of Caguas, Puerto Rico. The Tik Toks produced by Krystal were aimed at educating about different branches of health, including mental, emotional, spiritual, nutritional, and physical health.

  • While attending a graduate program at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus, Krystal worked as a research assistant for the Dean of Administration at UPRRP. Krystal was the communications and digital media point person for a team of graduate students working to develop several video/virtual workshops offered to non-teaching personnel. The topics for these workshops varied between continuing education, media & technology management, & newly established COVID-19 protocols. Krystal’s main responsability was to film and edit these video workshops, among other things.

  • As an assignment editor for WISN 12 News, Krystal worked alongside an award winning team of reporters, photojournalists, producers, and managers to bring local news stories to the Greater Milwaukee Area. Krystal researched current events, kept track of important dates and events to cover, and communicated with law enforcement and first responders to obtain any information on developing news. She also wrote web stories and created videos and graphics to share on the station’s social media accounts.

  • Krystal worked as a production assistant for this 2020 American drama film while they were filming on location in Milwaukee. As a 1st team PA, she kept track of the actors’ schedules, whereabouts, and meal times, among other things. She also worked closely with the 1st and 2nd AD in acquiring and keeping track of some of the larger props for the film, including the main character’s vintage car. Her favorite memory of filming was being in the one of the vehicles during the Harley Davidson motorcycle traffic scene!

  • Krystal attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from August 2013 to May 2017. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media, with an emphasis in television production, and minors in Theology and Public Relations.

    While attending Marquette, Krystal was a member of the Honors Program, the Residence Hall Association, The Meladies, was an active member of Campus Ministry, and served as a Resident Assistant (RA) for Straz Hall during the 2015-2016 school year.
